I own both Makita and Dewalt. I use mostly Makita and my Dewalt just stays home. Makita is a solid company...Not much changed. Dewalt was bought out by Black and Decker. So if you want a good powerful solid Dewalt, by their 20VMax Combos or their 18v NiCad Combos. Powerful cordless tools are coming from more brands nowadays and Hitachi 18v combos are one of them along with Milwaukee which have been around long before most brands. They all cost a lot.

I use both drills all the time and the dewalt is better the makita is very good too it's like comparing apples and oranges they are very close the dewalt wins by a nose you won't go wrong buying either drill but if you want to buy a drill as good but half the price try the porter cable same quality for less money

Lol Dewalt, have an honest comparison at least. After you drop your cheaply made Dewalt of a ladder and the case shatters then come try out the Makita. Smaller, lighter, better balanced and better built. The Makita is a work horse that will not let you down.

Man, ppl that works with heavy gauge metal , they all agree in that Dewalt goes througth that type of metal without a problem and without the feeling of burning out your impact drill! Makita is more fragile than Dewalt so they make ur money worth! Plus if ur Dewalt goes bad( any machine is except of that ) they have a very good parts support all around the country !
