@TheBackseatJesus I wouldn't go so far as to call this a ripoff. The melody and structure are different, even though it sounds similar. There are many other differences too, and actually none of the elements are identical (ie. the drums).

This is music by Yoko Kanno. You make it seem like GITS is the artist, and no where mention the real artist. Not cool.

I'm sorry, this is a really beautiful song and everything, but I cracked up when I heard "His head looks like a melon." XD

@TheBackseatJesus she cant get away with it if its a copy she has to ask the people who originally wrote the music can she get permission to do anything with it or else she wouldn't be able to use it. and she is a genius considering a lot of the music she has done is really good to a lot of people.

@snufkin789 And "geniuses" in music don't directly copy things as a whole. They may borrow certain elements, but as I've said, this goes beyond that. The only thing she may be genius at doing is getting away with it. It fucking angers and sickens me significantly that her fans could stand by this shit.

Yoko borroughs alot from different types of music. She is not copying other artists but incorporates styles into her own repertoir, much like a musical chameleon.
Listen to her works for Vision of Escaflowne. She quotes a whole bunch of composers like Gorecki (shadow of doubt), Orff (black escaflowne), Ravel (Revenge), Gregorian Style (Escaflowne Theme). If you know the composers those influences are highly obvious - as is her genius to combine and revive.

This is an extremely blatant ripoff of Hyperballad. I just lost a lot of respect for Yoko Kanno. I don't mind small bits being borrowed as long as their rebuilt upon, but this is such a copy.

Far superior my ass.

@salmonelas123 I've listened to both, and even if it was borrowed from Bjork , this is far superior. Hyperballad seemed to lack that next level, was kind of flat imo.
