  • He is right about how we are here to buy things!

  • They're similar perhaps in that they're somewhat like-minded, but Hicks was always more stringently political, whereas Maron himself has said that he's more of a cultural commentator. His work is raw in a different way, much more painfully personal. One can't really get an idea of what his stand-up is like from a couple of clips(/"bits"). I love Hicks as well and I can understand the comparison (there's some influence there), but saying Maron "lifted" material from Hicks is ridiculous.

  • You should throw yourself off a bridge and land face first on a garbage barge. That's like listening to the MGMT and saying they stole from the Stones. The stones didn't invent their style and Bill Hicks wasn't the first person to say what he said, he just said it the best.
