Conservacion Patagonica, a non-profit organization dedicated to protection of wildland ecosystems and biodiversity in the Patagonia region of Chile and Argentina, is working towards the goal of creating Patagonia National Park, a world-class park similar in size to Yosemite National Park in California.

This video vividly showcases the proposed park's landscape and makes a compelling case for its protection and restoration. It also touches on environmental threats to the area like a massive hydroelectric project that would dam two of Patagonia's wild and pristine rivers, one of which runs right along the edge of the proposed Patagonia National Park.

While the Patagonia region spans both Argentina and Chile, the future Patagonia National Park is in the Aysen region of Chile. For more information check out Conservacion Patagonica's website.

Very beautiful video! Some of the scenery reminds me of my home country, New Zealand. Patagonia is now definitely on my list of places to go. Keep up the good work guys!

@mayansun I have been there this summer ( bariloche) and believe me that everyone ive meet ,mapuches of a reservation and a lot of bariloche residents including a couple of park rangers, were very aware of the importance of Patagonia and ,rest assured, they know that the land will not be taken away from them. Hopefully this goverment will help to create the conditions for peace. The fight for giving all natives tribes their original lands is going to be a long one im afraid.

@mayansun well, we can only hope to help the natives making sure they are respected as argentinians with the same consideration we can have for any citizen, because that is what they are right now, Native people in patagonia have reserves and they are working their lands the same way most of the european colonist descendants are working their lands. People in patagonia have a wonderfull spirit and work very hard to protect the gift they have as heritage. All of them.
