Great central railway steam gala part 1

Went to the steam gala at great central railway and just as we arrived Leander flew through with the TPO. It was so busy that filming was difficult and I apologise for the shaky cam as there was not enough room for the tri pod. Got our tickets and waited for the newly built and running Peppercorn A1 60163 Tornado. We travelled behind it from Quorn to Leicester north it then ran round and went to Loughborough. We got off intending to get dinner but after filming tornado and 78019 Oliver Cromwell had coupled up and it was the last train for a couple of hours. So got on Cromwell back to Quorn had some dinner and got ready for Tornado to do the TPO. Leander passed us a couple of times which you will just about make out. More to follow soon

thanks i hate filming with out tri pod as ive got such shaky hands and also my wrists hurt after a while. hoping to go again at weekend if city of truro is still there

thanks, yes it was on the saturday im afraid its a bit shaky as there was no room to put my tri pod up.

Very busy day there. Good to see so many people (but maybe not so good for filming) and the A1. Excellent filming despite the crowds. Chris

Thanks, Tornado was my blackmail bit to get peter to go with me cos i knew he wanted to see it and there was the chance to go behind it even if it was a bit packed. prefer filming with the tri pod but it was impossible just so many people

thanks should be getting some more railway tshirts for christmas. yes i enjoyed the trip behind both tornado and cromwell but with having bad joints it didnt help hanging out of the window but had to try to get it on film. i got someone else on film then looked at they're film and they've got me on. it was a very busy day so im surprised any film came out good enough. still paying the price of being there but did enjoy it

I admired the t shirt on Saturday. I've seen your Cambrian line video before, and wondered if you were the culprit!! Lovely stuff! I was on the train with 70013 as well, and enjoyed the sound effects, including the departure from Quorn, where I was among the bunch down off the end of the platform. I was just along from you by the fence later, and no doubt your next contribution will feature what I saw there!!
