What do you mean by being on 1 or on 2? are you speaking on when the leader begins the next turn or movement? as in 1,2,3,5,6,7? he begins the move on 1? sorry, I am new to salsa...lol

He's very rarely on 1. Even though he's an LA style on1 dancer-- sorry, half the time he's on 5, the other half he's dancing on 2. He's an amazing dancer, but timing is not a high priority I guess. With NY on2 dancers, it's all about the timing and the beat. With LA style it's all about the flash and moves. If he was actually on1, then he would step with his left foot on 1. Watch it over again... he rarely is on 1.

They are dancing On1 until :45 (actually sometimes "On5", breaking on the second half of the measure rather then the first). Then they switch and dance On2 for the rest of it.

I agree. The style is on one, but Christian is breaking with music on the second beat of the music. Any musician will tell you the same.
