i think 3 people touching of in about 5 seconds max is pretty good. i think that people just have to allow a little more time at the start to get used to it. i mean a lot of the time your waiting for the bus anyway so a little more time wont hurt
I don't know the spec for Myki but most government led smartcard initiatives suffer massively from feature creep. They stick all these features in and then say: You MUST also transact with 300ms.
It's stupid and that's why these technology sucks. Kill the odd features, keep it simple and you will have a technology win. These government types are too ambitious and lack pragmatism.

That is a fair delay. It should be instant yeah?
Hopefully it's not going to be that bad with Melbourne's roll out and especially at ticket barriers :S
