And, BTW, the liberal copying and quoting of material from Pagan authors does NOT harm them economically. It does, however, drive the sales of their books. When an author is routinely copied and quoted, people want to get the full book and keep it in their personal library. Copyright infringement is their best advertisement!

It has occurred to me that if ANY of the "stop on line piracy" acts pass, almost ALL Pagan web sites can be shut down since they all generally do contain copies of copyrighted material. Even Wikipedia can be shut down for quoting snippets of The "Charge of the Goddess". All our commonly used modern religious texts would become fair game. Potentially, ALL Pagan religions with a modern following could come under attack on the internet and our major means of communication be destroyed!!

Why didn't I subscribe to this guy before? Everything he says is quite well-reasoned, courteous, succinct, clear, and *gentlemanly*.
Thanks for covering this. This was very eye opening.

Great video. It seems to me we are rapidly approaching Orwell's 1984 universe. I had always thought that Orwell's novel was far fetched. Not anymore. DMCA, SOPA, PIPA, Sarbanes Oxly, Patriot Act etcetera are all leading us there. I just wish people could see this.

@nottingham2222 Indeed. Fortunately, there is still enough will, on the part of those who use the Internet extensively, to defend liberty. I was pleased at how quickly SOPA and PROTECT IP were derailed following the coordinated “blackouts” of Wikipedia, Reddit, Craigslist, et al. This is a sign of hope – a way in which we might avoid the full realization of the Orwellian nightmare.

Once again your absolutely right. I was planning on making video games reviews on my channel. In these game reviews I would most likely use recordings from the games I would be reviewing. I'm may not do it now because of these bills. Even tho I will not giving out links to download illegal copys of the game. If anything I would be convincing people to go spend $20- $60 to buy the game. I've personally spent $4000 on my games, that where recommended to me. Would that really make me the bad guy?

@GovermentGamer Thank you for your comment! You pose an excellent concrete example of the kind of innovation that SOPA and PROTECT IP would discourage. Hopefully now that the bills have been derailed, you will have the chance to safely pursue this endeavor.
