Jefferson Airplane's diamonds performed at Woodstock, on 17th August 1969 .

"Somebody to Love", written by Darby Slick and "White rabbit", written by Grace Slick.

It was back in the year 2008. I had just started listening to Jefferson Airplane. I had looked them up due to a reference John Densmore does in his book "Riders on the storm" to the song "White rabbit"; I was very impressed by the lyrics and...well, the rest is history I guess :)
Searching through youtube, I found this very video that I have posted here. Sadly, it was taken down shortly after that, probably due to copyright issues and shit. So, I decided to upload it and make it available for everyone again but unfortunately, I have no idea what its original source is.So pardon the lack of any decent details about the video, I'm afraid I have none other than that the songs were performed at Woodstock but not back-to-back like in this video.

"Good mornin',people!"

Really digging: Jack's outfit and groovy headbanging, Spencer's hat and badass drumming, Marty's voice, sideburns and tambourine, Jorma's playing and crazy hair, Paul's headband and vocals (well on other songs :p) and Grace's eyes, barefootness (lol) and of course her unbelievably crazy voice.

Love Jefferson Airplane's spirit.

Enjoy!

VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!

Comments about certain artists of today (you know EXACTLY who I mean) shall be erased. I'm all for freedom of speech but I will not tolerate dickheads who advertise these artists by calling them names or comparing them to JA. Please you idiots, there is absolutely no FUCKING comparison.
I'm sure true JA and rock 'n' roll fans in general will understand and agree with me that it's pathetic to the point of thinking that it may be actually these artists' marketing teams who post these comments! As Oscar Wilde put it "It's better to be talked about than not talked about at all". ;)
Thank you!

    Jack's playing a Guild Starfire.

  • grace slick and janis joplin ruled in 1969. grace with her opera voice and janis with her raw R&B ,southern comfort soaked power blast .

  • I like how she's really giving herself away

  • AWESOME

  • back when music sounded the same live.

  • Woodstock 69 fué y será único pero me gustaría que existiera un evento tan masivo y con ese nivel de música, después moriría en paz.

  • gosto de mais dessa musica ^^

  • Even though i don't like how they do Somebody to Love here, i would not dislike this. They were not worth as much as they got paid, but they were very good. Hell, Hendrix wasn't worth 50,000 dollars that they were paid. However, Hendrix's Gypsy Suns and Rainbows played extremely well. Other bands attending deserved a little more than they were paid.

  • She lost it later on in her career but at that particular place and time, what a voice. What a voice.

  • somedy can drop me to 1969 ?

  • Fellow band members slid in Grace Slick atleast once or twice during her Tenure with the band...It was a very slippery slope... : )

  • To Bubblewrap34...Its Early Morning at Woodstock...eg Morning Maniac Music man !!! :D
