http://soundsandgear.com taking a look at IK Multimedia's flagship sample workstation. This one set the standard when it first came out and it's still being used today.

  • If you want great sounds and good tech support do NOT buy sampletank.... just save up some cash and buy Kontakt or Nexus.... I have been trying to get an answer to a question from Ik Multimedia tech support for like 12 years....

  • @rcbeatsprod that's crazy man, they are definitely due for an update to this, looooooooong overdue in my opinion.

  • @SoundsAndGear haha i was exaggerating a little... but yehh i agree, there are some good sounds but they could improve alot!

  • @rcbeatsprod lol! Hey you never know man lol, it could have really been that long lol

  • For me there is nothing better than Kontakt 4,Giga-Studio comes close but Kontakt,I find,is a bit better.I think Sample-Tank is very basic in allmost everything. It`s nice when you are starting out and want to learn a bit on a "free" DAW set up but when you go (semi-) pro it lacks in a lot of places.

    Best wishes from Amsterdam;Eric.

  • @Draakie100 I agree, Kontakt is really the standard, and it's my main sample playback engine, I know some that still enjoy sampletank but it needs a major update in my opinion.

  • @RaineR3313 If you want you can channel different sounds to different channels from one Sample-Tank,split up your keyboard and you can play 1,2,3 or even 4 sounds from one sampler(depends on your soundcard). But when you are having problems when running 2 S-Tanks maybe it`s time to change your computer,if you can.But watch out, with me it has gone out of hand,I started with a free and cracked set-up and now I have a semi-pro studio.Best wishes and good luck;Eric.

  • I DONT UNDERSTAND. I MADE SOME GREAT SOUNDS. I USED THE THE LITTLE BOXES TO TWEAK THE SOUNDS. SO IT WORKS GREAT. MOST OF THE SOUNDS YOU WILL HAVE TO TWEAK A BIT TO MAKE WHAT YOU WANT.

  • @slapopimp yeah...it's definitely a 'rompler' for sure, and it's getting very old now, it's time for an update. I never tried creating sounds with it, the interface isn't that inviting to me lol. It's cool for a sound module though, but like I said really needs an updated interface, engine, and library.

  • I'm glad I didn't waste money on this. It has some decent sounds, but, ST is mostly for just playing factory sounds. If you're looking to make your own sounds in addition to the factory ones... forget about it! This joint doesn't have any means to map sounds other than a similar process to the SFZ format.
