Multi talented artist Ashanti, is a Grammy -- Award winning
artist, singer, songwriter, record producer, actress, model,
who rose up to fame in the early 2000. With her famous hit
song
" Foolish". She has sold over 503,000 copies in its first
week of album being released in the U. S early April 2002.
Being big as she is in the entertainment industries, Ashanti
became the first female performer holding the top of the
chart for two places on the Billboard Hot 100 single chart
with hit song "Foolish" and What's Luv? With Fat Joe.
In her early childhood, everybody in her family call her "Bon
Bon". She join the gospel choir at her church when she just
six years old, but the one who really discover her talent,
her mother heard her singing to May J Bilge's song called "
Reminisce" to herself at the age of twelve. Ashanti began
writing songs as a teenager; she performed in many different
local talent shows venues such as at the Soul Café, China,
Club, and Madison Square Garden.
Just after two years later, at the age of fourteen, she was
discovered by P. Diddy 's Bay Boy Records. Then she was
appearing in front of P. Diddy and Biggie Smalls, singing one
of Mary J Blige's songs, but at the end due to bad contract
issues, she did not sign with P. Diddy's record company, but
in stead it lead her to Jive Record, where she been signed
with in 1994.
In her love life, she had been linked to rapper Nelly, at the
end of November 2008. Nelly has confirmed, they are indeed
together for almost four years. In the early stage, she has
called Nelly a " good friend" but is there a chance from them
to be together in the future. She did once said its possible,
anything can happen and who knows what the future brings.
