@keevre There shouldn't be anything keeping you from doing that. I always immediately switch to holding up right after I hit the two a's (though I like to hold down back while doing that combo so I don't accidentally get his sweep on the ground). Just mess with it without the intent of continuing the combo just to see if you can do it.
You can also jump cancel off his B attack\ if you need another example.
