Dr. Julia A. Berg: Two Antique Bells

On 29 April 2008, my ENG 101 composition students held a breakfast reception honoring Dr. Julia A. Berg, author of "Down By the Berry Patch." They had been reading Dr. Berg's stories throughout the semester and had patterned their portfolios after her web site.

At the reception, Dr. Berg read four of her stories: "Two Antique Bells," "Alex Searches for Understanding," "Grading Our Friends," and "Slow Learner."
After the reception, Dr. Berg met with my American history students. During that meeting, she told the story of her son Mike's horses.
