one word. ACIDMOTHERFUCKERS.

the first time you hear ratatat you either worship or disdain, but you can never ignore.

@Fishmonger1966 when i hear the lyrics, even the vulgar ones, it brings to mind early 1920s delta blues, like robert johnson and son house. they had lyrics that were just as violent and dirty. i understand where you're coming from, but i urge you to go listen to sleep bye the roots, or make my bye the roots, and tell me that it isnt a respectable form of music. and, just saying, aerosmith and blondie were trying to jump on a thing that they knew was becoming popular like the stones with miss you

@TheIvoryrocker Maybe so. But rap still has more in common with the beatnik poets of the ealry 60's than any type music. And most of the time it's just vulgar. In my ears it has no redeeming qualities at all. I remember when Aerosmith and Blondie did it first. And I've heard it change and morph into something else over the years since. I hated it then and I hate it now. 99% of what's on the radio now is just garbage. It's why I got into traditional music.

@Fishmonger1966 you know there are good rappers around, you just have to know where to look.

I rarely listen to new music. I like traditional tunes on acoustic instruments. But that was kinda cool!
Oh, and to all the kiddies complaining about no lyrics... It's called INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC. It's different from the soulless vulgarities that pass for music these days. (rap)

@1N71 Why? Why is it so bad for a good artist to get exposed?

When music like ratatat becomes popular, don't get down on them! You should be happy that something good is being recognized for its quality, and it's creators are being rewarded for it.
Everyone in the audience is SO STONED.
