Competing for best bands ever in my universe (and from that time span but it also matters how good they are still today): Manics, Pavement, Pumpkins.
Considering the last creterion the Manics win.
My god what a great band, and then you have people debating whether or not they're more important than the Clash. I say goodnight.
And this song will forever have the ultimate guitar solo in it. Unforgettable. No offense to Muse there they're awesome too.
