My internal superdrive in my 15" MacBook Pro no longer burns DVDs and so I got another burner, but this time I got one that is capable of burning Blu-ray discs.

Blu-ray playback is here:

  • Please help......I ordered all the parts but i'm missing the Super Multi Blue Install Disc for Mac. It only came with one disc that is for Windows. Please help. My imac doesn't recognize the player unless I install the disc.

  • @zazaiahmad: There are no Mac softwares that come with the burner.

  • @pusatube1 I'm sorry for being naive but how is it that you're using the blu-ray player with your macbook pro?

  • @zazaiahmad: I use Roxio Toast Titanium

  • hello, I need to have a blu ray writer but I'm confiused. I see LG blu ray some

times with "writer", "rewriter" or "burner" dose it make any difference? and can I

use it to burn a data? what the maximum capacity for burning data on a blu ray disk? is there 250GB capasity? what type of LG blu ray should I purchase with a lower price?

  • @nizarq99: The different words that implies of "burning," no. It does not matter. Yes, you can burn data, too. The only capacity I've burned is only 25 GB. There is also a 50 GB capacity that you can get. There is no 250 GB as of yet. Time will tell. Look at my video description for the link to see the low prices for a Blu-ray burner.

  • @pusatube1 i'm using toast titanium but its reading my imac drive. I tired to choose another diver (the new blu-ray) but its not showing.

  • The burner is $89 now, time to buy! Can you recommend a cheap case, I love OWC but the case is more than the burner!?

Of course you can make your own Blu-ray discs out of regular old DVDs with your current built-in DVD burner on any mac. You just need to get Toast 10 / 11 with the Blu-ray plug-in. Nice option if you're like me and have no real desire to buy Blu-ray movies but need a physical medium that can store the HD movies I shoot and one that can be played in a $80 device, cheap BR player.

  • Hi, what connection did you used?

    USB or FireWire?

Is it possible to connect it with FireWire 800 on an iMac?

    Thanks

  • @pusatube1

Thank a lot, I going to order now. by the way the price now became Now: $79.99.

    Thank you
