@livelaffluvgymnastix I agree. This speed used in this video is just right for most people. The slow speed that you used in school is effective though for building muscular strength. In the response video on this page, there is also a faster speed than this that's ideal for a pushup fitness test. The faster speed is for the military, law enforcement, and FBI participants.

@blackopsfan88 Thanks for the love on the comment :). You are correct as to one of the meanings of a cadence. My definition in this video is "the beat or measure of something rhythmic.' In this video each time I reach the down position, there is a "beat or measure of something rhythmic" It's designed to help the user maintain the correct velocity when performing the pushup (@ about 1.5 seconds per pushup).
