Feeder fish became way too expensive to feed my growing green moray so I upgraded him to grocery store croaker that is already cleaned, $3.99/lb. He eats about a pound a week, 2 to 3 fish each week. Sorry, but i am a crappy camera person and yes my tank is dirty, I have been slacking! The tank is a 155 gallon bowfront with wet dry filter.

  • AMAZING! :-) I used to have a snowflake, but somehow I always wanted the gentle green giant. But from what I can tell, he's not so gentle afterall. Still, I love that eel. Is he aggressive towards you? I could pet my snowflake eventually, but would be hesitant when dealing with this size.

  • @pblomgren Thanks for the props! He is gentle with me. when he comes up to take the fish out of my hand he is very slow and doesnt pull on it much at all. When I am cleaning the tank, I can grap him and move him across the tank; however I never get close to his head because I have seen videos of them ripping divers fingers off at this size!

  • What happened to the puffer and the trigger, did the eel extend his menu?

  • @shinypenny , The eel actually has only tried eating one fish in the tank and that was years ago, it was a panther grouper. My dad bombed the house for spiders and didnt cover the tank up (i was not home). The eel was the only one I had the chance to save. I have not added any fish since then and he is still the only on in the tank. I need huge fish to put in there now and they are just hard to find.

  • hi do you know the min tank size for that moray because i have a salt water tank about 5 feet long and 1.8 and and 2.1 feet tall can it live there??

  • The tank size depends on the size of the eel. I have had my eel for about 6 years now and started him out in a 30 gallon. I kept upgrading tank sizes as he grew. The current tank i have is 6ft long x 2ft deep (in center of tank) x 2ft tall. I actually need a bigger tank soon. The grow up to 8-10 ft so they will eventually need a huge tank. If your not looking at going with a bigger tank, get a snow flake eel. They max out around 3ft which will be perfect for your tank. thanks all for the props
