The Sterkies Spring event took place this past long weekend and was a blast, more thanks to the wonderful crowd than howling wind.
Due to a poor wind season we've had and the rapid approach of Summer, I decided to rather hold the event in moderate wind than not at all.
We were fortunate enough to have wind peak over 20 knots for 5 straight days, so there was plenty of kiting had, just not much speed.
42 knots was the best peak speed reached, and an average of 39.44.
Here's to the next event in 2010. A big year for South Africa when we'll host the world cup soccer.
