At Central College (in the ever-wonderful Pella, Iowa), there's a tradition where we throw people in the pond on their birthday. FYI, the pond is disguesting and never cleaned. But anyway, it was super cold on Will's birthday, so we had to go to the spot where water is pumped into the pond because everywhere else was frozen (and if you listen to the video, we mention that we even have to break up some of the ice to fit him in). There's a part at the end where I scream, cause my foot went in the water as I was trying to break the ice.
Will also purposely held himself under the water to freak me out. That takes dedication.
Oh, and the reason why everyone ran away as soon as he went in is because tradition also dictates that the person who is thrown in the pond has to try and chase after everyone to hug them after they've been thrown in.
It's all very sweet, really.
