Well both movies are about children with telekinetic/psychic powers as they even battle demonic toys just like in "Akira". Even the climax of this movie is similar to that in "Akira" but it was years before that movie.

I love the scenes in this movie. Such wide angles.

The classroom scene is a solid bit of moviemaking.
