My Game Gear wouldn't give me any sound anymore, so I had to fix it by replacing 2 dried out electrolytic capacitors. Now it works again, ahhh the god old tunes.

  • I can see the horizontal signal from the LCD in the oscilloscope and I can just barely hear it. If you're under 30 years old you might want to take a 1 microfarad capacitor and place it across the signal and ground of the headphone out, or otherwise the high pitch might drive you nuts like the Mosquito anti-teen speaker.

  • The word 'if' is such a nice thing. In this case I won't have to put in the capacitor. Maybe I'll have a look at the schematic again and replace some of the filter caps as well some day. By then the caps that are in the LCD circuit may have gone bad as well.
