They are not your grandfather's jazz band... Reid Anderson, Ethan Iverson and Dave King form Bad Plus bringing their unique interpretations of your favorite covers, including David bowie's "Life on Mars," Nirvana's "Smells like Teen Spirit," and Blondie's "Heart of Glass." And now they've added vocals with the deep, seductive tones of Wendy Lewis. You'll be able to hear more of this exciting new talent when WXXI presents The Rochester International Jazz Festival 2008. Coming in 2009.

  • I'm happy to see these interviews, but I'm saddened that they cover the same worn out topics that the Bad Plus has been asked about for years. Yes, they cover rock songs. We get it; that was news back in 2003. It's 2008 now! Can we move on?

An interviewer should never ask a question they could answer themselves with 5 mins of research. (Flim, hello?) Ask questions nobody but Reid could answer and you have a unique interview. Repeat the usual tired questions, and you're wasting everyone's time.

  • "Can you take an electronic piece and turn it into an acoustic Bad Plus-song?" Am I having a laugh or what???

  • This reporter is dumb... What kind of stupid questions are these? Thank you Reid for being awesome...

  • @hejmedlitetH08 He looked a little pissed after that question too.

  • The station had a small space for interviews and very limited time. As a result, each member of the Bad Plus had to be interviewed separately. Each picked a topic to talk about. Since the concert was almost all covers with a vocalist Reid chose to talk about covers. In the end, just a small snippet will appear in the show along with small parts of each of the other band members' interviews.

  • They were doing press for the "For All I Care" record ....... whiiiiiiich was all covers.

  • those questions are frustrating.

  • you are soooooo right. I don't even listen to the bad plus for their covers. I 'm really getting tired of the fact that everybody focuses on their covers.

  • The interviewer fails

  • Man what a master, what a badass
