This is footage of the RRD Cruiser 12 Convertible being used as a windsurf board. The displacement nose and double concave bottom make it a very smooth and efficient paddle and windsurf board. The center fin allows it to go up-wind very well and makes the board maneuverable for a 12' board. The generous volume, flat deck, 30' width and large pad make this board comfortable for paddling, sailing as well as SUP yoga and fitness.

The sail being used is a RRD WASSUP sail, specifically designed to be used on SUP boards. Really nice and light weight and because it does not have a foot batten it's great for freestyle.

The kids crossing my path every now and then are using the RRD WASSUP 8'5" and 10' Convertibles.

Thanks Phil for taking this footage!

  • Lots of turns because it shows how much the center fin creates a pivoting point and drastically improves turning ability of this board that is primarily designed for efficient straight-line performance. On-shore wind made it difficult to show up-wind ability which is quite good. A bit more wind would have been more fun. Better footage coming soon. Sailed the board with a 7.4 sail as well and it worked perfectly. Would have been better this day as well but the WASSUP sail is just a lot of fun.
