i agree with you, i really am enjoying it every time i see it again. i wish that i could destroy a piano. it's a wonderful feeling.

Actually it was far far from a 'perfectly fine piano' I offered the piano repairman money to take it. It his own professional opinion it was "not even worth throwing away" Despite this I did spend about nine months fixing another one that had been in better shape! Lateral thinking people.

This video made me cry. That was a bloody horrible thing to do, if you didn't want the piano it's easily sold. Morons.

Give it to me...

OOH, EEH, AHH, OWW, UMPH, that killed me a little inside watching this ;)

To a piano technician/pianist this was akin to witnessing a murder. Now that I've watched numerous similar videos, and have read the comments, I'm inured to it I suppose. How interesting, though, to note the varied, visceral reactions people have to deliberate piano destruction.
i have a old piano that needs smashed. any tips?

yeah, don't do it. some of those strings are held taught by tens of thousands of lbs. that's a lot of energy if one snaps and it will cut you up. If you still want to smash it up get a piano tuning key (or a screwdriver) and loosen all the strings till they're almost slack.
As for actual smashing advice? Watch out for the back panel. If you send the sledgehammer through the sound board it can get stuck.
