Cool Springs Mall area in middle TN Nashville flood May 1, 2010

We were around the Cool Springs Galleria in Franklin Tennessee on May 1, 2010 while there was a lot of flooding around us. They diverted us away from the roads we wanted to drive, but we made it home safely. Surprise, the roads flooded. Turns out this was the great Nashville Flood of 2010. We had went to eat and it was just kind of raining, we left the restaurant and found this outside trying to get home.

@stymye - well, when we left the house it was just raining some on Saturday morning and there was no flooding. When we got to our car and tried to drive home this is what we encountered.

my brother was works at the mall and he was there that day.

he parked on the lower level and his car was completly flooded :(

@99records I had not looked at any of these comments until today. She said idiot because the guy was causing a traffic jam not because he was out in the weather. Many of the people out during this were already out when the weather got bad and were just trying to get home... so yeah... he's still the idiot... but thanks for the comments... I was stoopid and went out yesterday in the car - turned around 'right quick' cuz bridges were 1/2 inch away from breeching.  Nasty, and stoopid. but got great pictures. Horrific, amazing, and scary. National Guard evacuating people less than 2 miles away. really scary. Living half way up a 'KNOB'....priceless

I'm from Houston TX myself, this kind of stuff happened more often due to Houston being flat land. Until now, I did not know it could happen here.
