  • That wasn't my house in the background, it was my shed, and that thing's already full of holes ;P

My work on LRPs has been put on hold in the quest to build something better to fire them out of. My current design, in testing right now, will propel a similar round to this one at roughly 2500fps, and I'm not even going to quote how fast it'll go out of the bigger version - it just isn't easily believable.

  • Obviously the speed of your APFSDS is much lower than 530feet/s. I estimate the speed is about 40m/s-80m/s

This conclution is based on your bullet's sabot/dart diameter ratio(<2) and the length of the dart.

  • I'd have to say that this is one of the most ridiculous things I've seen all day. I've sent you a message with a more detailed description.

  • So, you can somehow acquire "impoverished" uranium, which is almost like suggesting it's depleted uranium, but not saying it- and you use duct tape and cardboard for your stabilizing fins?

Seems to me you just sharpened a steel re-bar and shot it out of a potato gun.

You're full of shit. Delete this if you want you fake.

  • Not enough speed and you should find some depleted uranium and tungsten to mix with your APFSDS round. Then it should pierce through that steel plate! ;)

  • shoot your house up,real smart

  • bah

why can't you guys just use the metric system :/

can't be arsed to convert that

  • @dumbpeopleRlucky Hey, I am interested in your work, if you ever need CAD models for manufacturing let me know.

  • Funny because I explained exactly what I meant by "cleave it in two"

    It's called exaggerating for effect

  • If you knew what an APFSDS round was designed to do, you might realize that it was designed to punch a hole through armor. It's a kinetic energy weapon. The casing comes off and a steel rod penetrates the hull/armor/whatever. It doesn't "cleave a tank in two" or anything like that. It might cause the ammo to ignite and blow the turret from the base. So no matter what, nothing is cleaved in two. It's a relatively small hole left in the turret. But nice try on trying to prove me wrong.

  • Well if you know that the round is actually 24mm wide, then it's logical to assume that a 50mm APFSDS would be launched from a huge ass 250mm gun

And it would cleave a tank (go right through it)

  • Not to mention that 20 years on tanks doesn't count for shit. Or my ten years around tankers. The only retarded source is you. 50mm won't cleave a tank, the turret, or the hull apart. Hypothetically or real life. Get a clue.

  • Hey you know what, your super smart with calling everyone a faggot. Can't have an argument without resorting to name calling? Are you that childish? And I never said, "ABRAMS DA BEST" or anything close to it. I merely pointed out that a shot from a 125mm APFSDS round didn't kill the other friendly tank (we know that the actual projectile that comes from the round is only 24mm in diameter however I thought you morons would already know that so I refrained from going into technical details)
