While Americans are looking for transparency in Washington, this Congress has become defined by backroom deals. Rep. David Dreier, the top Republican on the Rules committee, says that Congress should carry out its business in the light of day and provide an open amendment process on bills that spend taxpayer money to provide opportunities to save taxpayer dollars. What's your take?
We do need to see the bills and amendments prior to them being voted on. We trust Republicans more for legislation, but we still need to be able to have the media review the bills prior to a vote.
