  • Of course the spark will erode the face of the micrometer which will ruin its accuracy for normal use...

  • You guys are some smart smart people! I especially liked the demo of how to record to a floppy as if it were a cassette.

  • I think that there's no point using such an accurate instrument, because the spark length depends on many other conditions than the voltage itself, so there's also revatively large measurement error anyway. When I saw the thumbnail of this vid I thought that you're gonna aply HV to a piezo element and measure it's expantion - that would be cool experiment! :D
