  • Basically it's "To be in the army and kill people you have to be part of a religion that commands you NEVER to kill"?

    Wow..

  • No, it's convincing yourself, by faith, that death is an illusion. Instead of actually dying, you will enter utopia with Jesus (and or other God(s)).

Many bigots in the military don't think atheists will risk their lives for anyone or anything, if they think this life is the only one that matters.

What the faithful is saying here is that the cause they are fighting for, and fighting for their country, is not enough. They need supernatural faith in order to act bravely.

  • I also had "no preference" on my dogtags when I was in the navy . Does our military still refuse unbelief as a preference.

  • Bravo. True courage on display.

  • I would gladly give my life for a just cause, and without blind faith.

I don't see the problem, but i guess the military does see one.

Too bad, they could have a shitload more good soldiers.
