Here the band makes its initial entrance onto the field at Ross-Ade stadium prior to the kickoff of the Boilermakers game vs. Toledo. With the Big 10's announcement that teams would be on the field for the playing of the National Anthem, the pregame order is different this year from prior years.

  • i didn't go to Purdue, but i'm from Purdue Country and my high school always participated in Band Day. this is an amazing group of musicians. they are a formidable force, the pride of American marching bands.

    holycrapilovethem

  • @cvehige2012 Yes! First go on to Purdue's band and orchestra website. This is where you get your audition music. It'll also let them know that you're interested, because you have to get a password from them to access the music. Make sure your audition music is prepared by the first day of band camp, because this is when you'll try out, and the rest of the week is mainly for marching. They look for talent but also good sports who work well with others :)

Trying out myself this year :)

  • @BoilerByBlood It might be because of the 2003 renovations. I wasn't around Purdue back then so I really don't know.

  • I love Purdue and their marching band! I would love to know what the requirements are to have a shot at being part of the band... I am a junior in high school this year and Purdue i one of my favorite schools. Is there anything I should know in advance? As in tryouts or anything along those lines?

  • The sound is OK but the drill is dreadful!

  • The band is great, but needs a more exciting entrance. It was awesome when they used to run in from behind the jumbo-tron during the Drew Brees years. I never understood why they quit doing that.

  • I love this stuff. Keep posting!!!

  • haha yeah you had me confused as to why you were a Notre Dame fan going to the "huge game" of Purdue vs. NIU. I guess being a Purdue student would explain it.
