...you are right on about outsourcing. I was a one person software consulting company for 17 years, and in the 90's it became increasingly difficult to get work in the fortune 500, so I turned to smaller business around 1999, but now they are outsourcing as well. It got to the point recently where I had to shut down the business as I couldn't find any work that paid a living wage, so now I work as an employee making 50k less a year than I used to make in 1994.....

Maintained by unemployment benefits...Yikes, unemployment pays shit I know I almost lost my place and car. So if anything that alone would have people shitting in their pants. Secondly, the people I speak of that are mostly cavalier are the typical suburbanites, mall spenders and credit maxers. Ask someone who owns a half a mill house and has two thirty grand cars and is still employed...for now... if their concerned about the economy.

People are so cavalier because the unemployed are maintained by unemployment benefits. Once that runs out and people can't feed themselves and are living on the street in mass; all hell will break loose!!
