Problems in the world economy can stir up strong passions.

But not usually in the course of a TV debate between wealthy tycoons.

Yet Russia's super-rich apparently play by different rules.

Al Jazeera's Peter Sharp has the story.

  • Polonsky blocks the punch - if you slow it down - his left arm comes up and covers his head without him actually looking at Lebedev. Lebedev does not catch him with the second punch, Polonsky is the man,

  • their criminals, what do u expect?

  • Lol, that's Russia for you

  • To make our judgement about the Lebedev's behaviour we should know first what Polonsky said just before he was punched. He actually said something like he wants to beat s* off Levedev's muzzle, in front of TV cameras. Sure fighting is not a good thing, but he deserved a lesson, finally.

Iterestingly, Polonsky turned to Putin to "ask for advice" after the incident. He is a coward after all.

  • Check out that stance lol! Badass Ex-KGB gone billionaire is not to be fucked with.

  • jeez, who the hell would want to live in that criminally runned crap hole? i would be leaving if it were me.

  • whole damned country is run by criminals and ex KGB. third world shithole.

  • There wasn't one punch landed. Lebedev was towering over the guy sitting down, how did he manage to not land one punch?? Then, the reporter mentions that he was an 'ex-KGB spy'. Well who's afraid when you land 0 of 2 punches on a guy who's in a very compromising position to take a couple sucker punches?

  • @Impeachthecriminals5 against a former KGB agent? wouldn't be wise and I think that guy knew that.

  • they are all in putin's basket of corrupt employees!

  • Way to go Alexander Lebedev! This man used to be a spy, a cabbie, a trader, and then a tycoon. Not to mention a staunch advocate against corruption in Russia.
