Living with a form of autism, 13-year-old Nate Oakley is one of 500 beneficiaries of the Douglas County (Colorado) School District's groundbreaking Pilot Choice Scholarship Program. Many families like the Oakleys will receive a voucher worth about $4,600 to cover 2011-12 tuition at a local private school they have chosen that best suits their children's needs. Three months after the school board adopted the program, the ACLU and other groups sued to stop families from exercising a choice that may help save their children.
