Shark Finning- an INTERVIEW with PRETOMA

Hey guys, we just want to get the word out about SHARK FINNING and Longline Fishing off the coast of Costa Rica. If you're like me, you may not have known a whole lot about shark finning and longline fishing and the IMPACT it has on the CIRCLE of LIFE. Although I'm not sure how you wouldn't care about SHARKS and Sea Turtles, technically regardless of what you think about these magnificent sea creatures, it's MUCH BIGGER than that... millions of sharks are killed each year solely for their fins. And the TRUTH is, it's an ASIAN thing. It's traditional to ENJOY shark fin soup for just about any IMPORTANT occasion and it is also a sign of STATUS in the Asian culture, which MEANS- supply and demand. That said, the food chain is severely effected by the killing of SHarks... and that's not to mention the affects of longline fishing which kills thousands of sea turtles each year. There are laws in place in Costa Rica to combat this problem, unfortunately they are NOT enforced. We need to get the word out.
