Stop comparing the Soukous sound to standardized western disco genres. There are numerous genres of disco that were created and thrived before the standard disco of the 1970's began to dominate the international scene, such as Jamaican ska, Haitian compass and Congolese rumba. The Congolese created the first disco genre with rumba in the 1950's. If the 'Belle Epoque" had not occurred none of the boom in western disco genres during the 1970's would have ever existed.

@PapaBahia - I'm afraid that Soukous is not only a genre of disco - but the most popular genre in the world with over a billion enthusiasts. Please don't confuse it with American disco from the 1970's. Disco started in the Congo with the Belle Epoque. The disco booms in the americas and europe could not have occurred without the Congolese inventing the fundamentals. Now house music and techno artists are imitating Dr. Sakis structures.

Well okay, For starters Soukouss is a genre of Disco Music just as Zouk, House Music or Trance. In the instance of this Diblo gem from the 1980's, "Super K" featuring the energetic voices of the legendary Soukouss supergroup Loketo just happens to be one of the best Disco recordings of all time. Still, so many years later, it remains more advanced than the vast majority of popular music found anywhere in the world.
