The S word should never be spoken anywhere near a golf course or golf in general. It's the most dibilitating, humbling "mis-hit" in golf.

@miller28303 I understand what your saying and at no point have a disputed the fact that Phill is a great wedge player and great player. I simply think telling a player with a high handicap to accelerate into the ball will cause shanks and tops with jerky movements. I understand what he is saying and for better players it is correct but the average club golfer i think would struggle. But hey thats whats so great about coaching and golf its can be about opinion and preference.

@watson442 I'd hate to disagree, but thats the point of practice. Dont take it to the course unless you have practiced it, and perfected it. Every shot you hit in golf, you need to have complete confidence on the distance your controlling... to have an idea on your trajectory, and to control your spin. You learn those 3 aspects, I think you'll be surprized on how practice pays off. Any time you listen to phil .... ur listening to one of the greatest wedge players of all time

@pgatourprov1x could you put a golf club down on the outside of the ball o l << like that, take about a hundred practice swings.... when you dont hit the club you layed down anymore, you wont shank anymore
