  • i like it. what is the scottish tattoo?

  • The Scottish Tattoo started with its first show at the Royal Albert Hall, London, in April 1999. It then went on a short tour of the South of England. The aim is to tell a story from Scottish history...from a Scottish perspective and weave this story through the best of Scottish and Irish, music, song and dance.

    Thank you for asking!

  • Dont forget to mention that "Tattoo", meaning dode in tapto", meaning 'turn off the taps", telling soldiers it was time to turn off the taps, and return to their quarters. (For reference to this, you can refer to the 2005 "Salute to Australia" Tattoo which was presented at Aussie Stadium in Feburary, 2005.

  • Dodem Tapto

I suspect that meaning has, at some stage, been explained in the programme of anyone staging a Tattoo, not least Edinburgh Military Tattoo. I have even done it myself!
