thanks for the video. I recentlly purchased my first sig 556 rifle and was very nervous about taking it down , cleaning / oiling and mostly the reassembly! your vid was helpful but I was wondering if you might be doing a more comprehensive take-down / reassembly video in the near future... thanks again

thanks for the vid, very helpful.

Actually a Sig 516 goes for about $999.

why does the sig 556 put the recoil spring in the gas tube? in there some advantage to this as opposed to the spring behind the bolt carrier as in the AK? (the only other long piston gas system i know)

Nice video and nice rifle. AK reliability with AR accuracy. And at $1100 bucks it is half the price of most AR piston guns. e.g. 516 and ruger 556.

excellent, thank you.
thanks for the vid....i have a bunch of AR's but im ready to buy my uncles 556 and im excited. I never stripped his 556 but that BCG does look exactly like the AK"s. I was goin to buy my 1st AK but i think since the Sig is similiar and more modern im going to skip the AK. Although the AK is a long stroke design, what is the sig??? Lastly, i have the exact same PA M3 clone and i love it!!! I have it on a Sig 522, how does it handle the recoil of the 556??? Do u trust it on a 5.56? Thank u

@dirtyboy3364 The piston system is the same as the AK for the most part, it's also long stroke. The PA M3 clone has been 100% for me so far, if I were entrusting my life to the reliability of this rifle I would spend the extra money and get an aimpoint or eotech. That being said the PA optic is more then good enough for range duties, it has held a zero fine for me and get's the job done.

Thanks for the field strip and cleaning guide ! It helped me alot !! I went shooting today and put about a hundred rounds or soo of american eagle FMj's 55 grain, fired smoothly and without a problem, the cold bore accuracy was amazing and the original Sig dot sight was amazingly easy to zero in took like maybe 5 shots or soo to get it spot on zero. Any suggestions on good range ammo ? What are your thoughts about the remington 200 box or the american eagle rounds?

@harisarif No problem at all, glad I could help in some say! That's great to hear that your Sig ran well for you. I use PMC Bronze a lot, it's cheap and runs pretty clean. Most of the time I just end up using Brown Bear or Silver Bear due to lack of funds on my part. The heavier the round you can run the better, my Sig loves 62gr +. There is nothing wrong with the Remington or American Eagle ammo, they are both decent. I have seen the best accuracy in my gun using Black Hills Heavy Match.

@harisarif these guns have 1 in 7 twists I think, so it should like 62gr green tip and heavier ammo

@labartic For sure, the heavier the better.
