  • You turn in too early, but that's just me keyboard racing ;) Amazing car, this is the kind of thing I would love to build if I ever have the money and space.

  • @TehRacooonODoom check out our 18th video, from almost exactly one year later, that's about 20 seconds faster on the same track (except in opposite direction).

  • 3 people drive a Prius.

  • @Relix90 you can now 'drive' our car in rFactor sim and if you wish compare it directly to the radicals :) see palatov.com for download and additional info

  • @MPalatov Yes I was referring to the SR8, sorry about that.

Hehe I understand you don't want that!

Very nice car, keep up the work with all of them!

  • @Relix90 as far as i know of the radicals only sr8 and sr4 have any appreciable downforce... shifter karts pull 2g without any downforce whatsoever. a lot of it is in the tires and how well the car uses them but at some point downforce does begin to make a huge difference.

i certainly wouldn't want my car upside-down though, downforce or not! :)

  • @MPalatov 2.5g, those are amazing numbers, considering the fact that the Radical, for example, barely manages 2g peak!

With 600 lbs of calculated downforce at 100mph, you should, technically, be able to drive this thing upside-down at a slightly higher speed, if the weight ended up at around 800 lbs (Your preliminary numbers).

  • @Relix90 according to analysis it's about 600 lbs at 100 mph but this probably isn't accurate. in the spring we'll set up data acquisition to measure downforce directly.

so far we've recorded about 2.0g sustained and around 2.5g peak cornering.

  • Hey!

Have you done any calculations on how much downforce the body produces?

    How's the grip?

    Thanks!

  • @theundeadx we haven't tested for those numbers yet (because it's not what the car is about really) but i think your guesses are pretty close.
