I keep my tank outdoor under direct sunlight from sunrise to sundown without algae problem because of shrimps and nerites. It's been more than a month now since setup on this spot. Another thing that I noticed is that under direct sunlight my plants especially the Pearlweeds produce lots of oxygen. And when covered would stop releasing oxygen and when uncovered and exposed again to the sun, releases lots of oxygen again.
