Roger, a perfect example of the mystery of resiliancy. Why do some make it and others do not? I have dedicated my adult life to children and spent four years in a group home. I saw horrible exploitation and deception. I hope one day to write a book. I received my Master's degree in Spec. Ed. and now have a room with severely ED students. I give them love love love. Roger is now a beautiful man on the inside and outside. He made it. How many won't? What a testimony! God bless you Roger! ~ Cata

I spent time in an children's home but they were kind to me. It was only when I was at my "real" home I experienced emotional abuse with a mother who could never show never love. I too chose to raise my own 3 children differently. We are VERY close and loving. Abuse can stop.

i can't say I had a sad childhood, I had a very good childhood, and I had no idea that there were kids my age that received no love, but my Father did not, but what he did for me is what you did for your kids, give them a warm and loving home, and i hope that your books will make some parent realize the world does not exist for them only, but to make this a better place to live by nuturing our children with love, and respect for our fellow human beings.
