A novel take on the famour dollar.

The US Treasury sells sheets of 'uncut' dollars. So you can buy a large sheet containing 32 bills, in any value from $1 to $50. These are the genuine article, and if you cut them up, you can use them just the same as a regular bill. However people often like to have the uncut sheet on their wall as a conversation piece. In fact the US Treasury even sell the correct size frames so you can do just that!

You pay a slight premium for this service - a sheet of 32 $1 dollar bills will cost you $55.

When paper currency gets too worn to be of any use, it normally gets shredded. However one alternative is to shred the bills, and then sell them.

Again an interesting conversation piece. But this time you can get a lot of dollar value (shredded of course) for a much smaller outlay.

  • I am not clear why you think we are putting the United States down. The bag says on the label - 'Money Pillow. Guaranteed to contain $100's in genuine shredded US currency.' I suppose it could be error money, as you put it, rather than notes which have been withdrawn from circulation. But as my colleague Tim says in the video, this seems a more fun way of disposing of unwanted notes than burning them, which is what happens here in the UK.

  • who cares, dude?

  • bills have no value, they represent gold so my shredding the bills (if they were circulated) that would acctually increase the value of the US dollar
