  • my favorite jockey club of the last 20 years.....

  • Funny CIde did amazing!!!!! But did you guys see the Cliff's Edge? He broke down in that race and suffered a career ending injury, but still had the determination to get 3rd. I don't have a doubt that he would have won. But Funny Cide deserved this one, too!

  • Santos rode great. If anyone knew Funny Cide you knew he hated being in between horses, so Santos pulled him back and put him on the outside to make a nice run down the stretch to win the Gold Cup.

  • Funny Cide was certainly one of the most popular horse of the last 20 years, especially in New York. His owners knew they had a special horse, and they wanted to share their fun with Funny Cide's fans. This was his only gr.1 win after the Preakness. But, how many Derby + Preakness are still running and winning stakes as a 7 year old?

  • wow what a fucking monster he was that gave me goose bumps and almost made me cry, he was going backwards on the turn and showed his class

  • He was such a game horse!

  • this was his last good race, the way he came back gave everyone hope. And then he showed that this was just a fluke when he got romped in the Classic

  • He did look like he was done coming into the stretch, but he once again lived up to nickname. He was what you would call pure hickory!

  • When he won this race, I leaped out of my chair and whooped like a dork. This was the one race I wanted him to win, from the beginning of my being a fan of his, since this was once the biggest race an older horse could win, back before the Breeders Cup Classic, and it was at his home track of Belmont.

  • S'wonderful. S'marvelous!!!!
