This is the solo played by Robben Ford in this lesson:

It is about using the diminished scale (half-step/whole-step, also known as half diminished) on the "1" chord in order to prepare the "4" (in this case G7 going to C7).
The same principle could be applied to any dominant 7 chord.

Could you tell us what is your Robben Ford lesson reference as your link is dead!
You should build a lesson on that as you have done for pentatonic ;-)

@FKL Thanks! The original video comes from the Robben Ford DVD "The Blues and Beyond", but it got removed from YouTube, probably for copyright reasons...
