Osama Bin Laden Killed Announcement On Sunday Night Baseball

ESPN's Dan Shulman and the legendary Howard Cosell have drawn numerous comparisons over a certain type of broadcast they had. Cosell, on a Monday Night Football game in 1980, broadcasted to the masses that John Lennon had been shot and killed outside of his apartment in New York City. Shulman was in a similar spot; in the booth in Philadelphia broadcasting a Sunday Night Baseball game, when the news of Osama Bin Laden being killed broke. Shulman reflects on how it all went down with TYT Sports' Rick Strom.

Speaking of major events going down in sports games, the 1989 World Series must have been really crazy. I was a little kid at the time and don't remember. Earthquake started 30 minutes before the game was supposed to start, and there were lots of people in the stadium. Ironically, the Series was between both Bay Area teams.
