Racelogic Caterham crashes at Mallory Park!

Unfortunately at our first test of the year, my team mate gets some understeer at 100mph and clips the grass causing a lurid slide across the track and a big impact into the barriers, ouch! I am not sure what the loud rubbing sound was around right hand bends, but it doesn't sound good!
After the crash, you can hear the petrol coming out of the split tank.
In car video and data-logging provided using the Racelogic Video VBOX. G-forces are reading exactly half because it was a prototype 20Hz VBOX instead of the normal 10Hz unit.

Its interesting, seeing the camera on the driver you can see why he crashed. On the grass he is ok but then he tries to get back onto the tarmac too early and cranks the steering too sharply to the right, leading to too much steering angle and grip once back on the tarmac. With less steering angle the car would have blended back onto the track...Easy for me to say as an armchair observer :) A lot harder to do in the heat of the moment. Great product the vbox to help understand what went on.
