Coming off its first league loss of the season, four-time defending Muskingum Valley League champion Tri-Valley had little time to sulk with a game at rival John Glenn.
In fact, the Scotties would need an extra effort to get back on track at The Tank.
Playing in its second overtime period in as many games, Tri-Valley held off a relentless John Glenn team, 61-56.
It was the Muskies second straight overtime loss.
Tri-Valley kept a share of the league-lead with the win sitting at 7-1 in the MVL and 8-2 overall, while John Glenn found itself sitting at 3-4 in the MVL and 4-5 overall after the disheartening setback.
Senior point guard Josh Butler tallied a game-high 20 points to go with four assists and five steals for the Dawgs. West Virginia-bound lineman Ryan Spiker muscled in 13 points to aid the winning effort.
Charlie Karling turned in a second straight game of 20 points or more, while junior Rob Metry totaled 11 points including the game-tying bucket at the end of regulation.
