This is taken from the original Japanese production, the subtitled version of which I managed to get my hands on a couple of episodes.

This is, um, odd.

those of you that do not know this that transformers orginaly did 135 epsiodes because scramble city was a 2 parter that started season two. transformers headmasters that can afther 3 part min series.

In the US, there were 98 episodes, including Rebirth.

In Japan, there was far more than 135 episodes. They had the full seasons 1-3, they added Scramble City but discarded the Rebirth 3-part mini-series, then they had 3 full series, Headmasters, Masterforce and Victory, of approximately 50 episodes each. So it's much closer to 250 episodes.

Anime series particularly those aimed at kids do this a fair bit I think, opening with a heroic/energetic/adventurous-s­ounding song and then closing with either a silly, light-hearted song or a reflective/calm/ballad-like song. I suppose it makes sense. In any case, I kind of like this song, and the fact that it tells kids "you're a tank!" amuses me.
