Traxxas Stampede 50mph (HQ)

This is my Traxxas stampede its 5 years old and and has gone threw 4 motors it originally had a stinger modified 20t wich was stock. Then i went to a 17turn fireball motor and burned up the stock xl-1 speed control. so i replaced it with a duratrax 12T. baught a epic motor on ebay and got the 14T but they sent me a 10T and i burned up the duratrax esc. THis was getting to cost alot so i just went with the VXL system. with a regular 6 cell battery it will do about 28mph. but when i use my 8 cell 9.6V battery on a good charge it will do 50MPH. can you run these 20t motors with the xl-5 throttle control thing? and what kind/size of battery should i use?

with ease the xl5 supports up to 12turns on the 550 size

i wouldent reccomend anything lower than 14 turns on the 540size

GO to ebay and get a EPIC 14 turn 540 sized. its truely amazing its a japan made motor.

I bought traxxas summit been going through some Sharp stiff straw grass and cut rubber seal around one the universal joints,so down until I fix that,I looking forward to getting stampede vxl,whats the biggest battery I can put in it and whats does the battery look like? nimh ,hate lipos their bombs

if you dont like lipo. this is a 8 cell. you can go to a 9 cell. 10 cell is to much power and will over heat. MY PERSONAL OPINION MY 8 CELL GEARED AT 23/86 RUNS GREAT PLENTY OF TOURQ AND SPEED AS YOU CAN SEE IN THIS VID.

The maximim voltage is 11.1 Volts my fully charged 8 cell will actually produce more than 9.6V on a full charge when measured with a volt meter is 10.4V

So wich esc r u using with the 8cell 9.6V pack? I have a pede' XL5 stock 2wd not the vxl version,with a orion 17T double modified motor. U think a 8C 9.6 would burn up my esc?

You have alot more torque with the vxl... But I clock my Pede with the titan 12t at 48 mph. Thats running 8 cell 5000mah and geared 19/86

can i put a brushless system in my xl1 and use the same reciever? or will i need all new electronics?

try the dynomite tazer 15t esc and the titan 12t motor i have the older stampede and i eat the brushless cars up costs around 60 for the whole set up

Oh also I am getting a 16.8 emaxx in the next few days with some 4200 and 3600 batteries do you think 2 17 turn motors would wake up the emaxx? and what speeds with that possibly? thanks travis

Hi ok so my brother has a XL-5 stampede with a 3600 7.2v battery and a 90T spur gear do you think a 17 turn fireball would be good and what would the approximate speed be maybe?
